STAR FOCUS: ZUGOMUSIC
Chukwuezugolum Tochuckwu Okafor popularly known as Zugo is a Lagos based new generation producer, artiste and sound engineer. The steadfast music lover have given us really good vibes like Colorado, cover me, radio and fantasy with over 3 million streams.
He is known as fatboymix as a producer and have worked with artistes like ruffcoin, kroxxs and dai verse. His production skills are nonetheless professional and he is really good at mastering sounds.
He has credits for mastering sounds like cocaine by dai verse, yess yess, Colorado (his current chart topping track) among others.
We managed to get an interview with him
This interview was conducted on Thursday the eight of July 2021.
The purpose of the interview is to give an insight about an enigma zugo.
Interviewer: who is zugo
Zugo music: zugo is a creator. I like to think of myself as a full time, all round Creative artiste producer and Sound engineer.
Interviewer: How long have zugo been in the music industry.
Zugo music: officially not too long but I've been around music for a very long time
Interviewer: what inspired you to start making music
Zugo music: I am a huge music listener, I love, love music .it literally takes me to another realm, so I decided to start creating mine because I wanted to be able to make people feel the same way.
Interviewer: you have great songs going viral in the internet, would you say the internet has been an active participant of your rise as a prodigy.
Zugo music: it has been a huge contributing factor given that it dropped during covid when all people had to go by was the internet.
Interviewer: what havr been your challenges as an artist/ producer when producing your own sound.
Zugo music: mostly creative blocks, emotions can either make or Mar you when creating how you feel at every point in time is a huge influence on everything you do creatively.
Interviewer: Do you write a song then create an instrumental to it or create the instrumental and write to it.
Zugo music: it usually depends it could go either way,there is no wrong way of doing things whatever works at the time.
Interviewer: what do we expect from zugo this year.
Zugo music: A music video and maybe a project but definitely a music video up next
