Sound sultan: The legacy

Olanrewaju Fasasi popularly known Sound Sultan is a Nigerian rapper, singer, songwriter, actor, comedian and recording artist. Born on the 27 of November 1974, he is regarded as one of the pacesetters of modern hip hop music in Nigeria

Sound Sultan's career in show business started in the 1990s, when he hosted shows to raise money for studio sessions.

 

 

By 1999, he had won numerous local talent-hunt shows. He released his first single "Jagbajantis" in 2000, which was a hit in Nigeria.

 

After independently releasing other singles and featuring in hit songs of other artists, he was signed by Kennis Music.

He has worked with the likes of wyclef jean, 2face idibia

He was made UN ambassador for peace in 2012 due to active participation in human rights affairs.

It was allegedly reported that the icon was battling with throat cancer and undergoing treatment at an American hospital.

Sound sultan has been confirmed dead at 9 am  July 11th after his battle with throat cancer.
